Hickson-OliverRising through the ranks, from college intern to personnel director, Nichole Hickson-Oliver will bring a wealth of knowledge and advice to our “Women in NextGen Manufacturing and Engineering” event March 27.

Hickson-Oliver, Personnel Director of General Motors, Baltimore Operations, began her career with General Motors as a summer college intern at Pontiac Assembly Center, which produced the GMC and Chevrolet full-size pick-up trucks.

In 1999, she joined General Motors as a fulltime salaried employee at Pontiac Assembly Center, rotating through assignments in salaried personnel, labor relations and production supervision. Throughout her 16-year career with General Motors, Hickson-Oliver has worked in four vehicle assembly plants, two transmission plants; and a component facility.

She has also worked on several human resource assignments, supporting various manufacturing and engineering organizations. In March 2013, she was promoted to the position of Personnel Director at Baltimore Operations, located in White Marsh, Md. She currently resides in Bel Air with her husband of 10 years, LeNardo Oliver, and her daughter, Shelby.

Women in Next Generation Manufacturing and Engineering – Hosted by RMI and Northrop Grumman  Electronic Systems

This event offers a panel/audience discussion for anyone who wants to learn about successful women leaders in NextGenM .

The event will be held March 27, 2014 from 8 to 11:30 a.m., at the National Electronics Museum (1745 West  Nursery Rd, Linthicum Heights, MD 21090). The costs are $35.00 per RMI member  and $45.00 for a non-member (membership info here) .

RMI is giving students and teachers the opportunity to attend for free, but they must register here.
