On November 17th, RMI of Maryland hosted its 2022 Maryland Manufacturing Celebration in Baltimore County. It was a festive gathering unlike any traditional business event. Over 700 people represented a chorus of voices in support of Maryland manufacturing. Social media lit up the next day with a variety of voices echoing the uniqueness of the event and championing the evening’s message of the dignity and worth of people. In addition to a number of other activities, the event honored Mike Galiazzo for his 32 years of service as RMI’s President. Below is a letter of appreciation from Mike as well as a link to a Celebration recap, videos and details.
Dear Friends,
I am honored by everyone who spoke eloquently and sincerely at the Celebration of my 32 years at the helm of RMI. It was a profoundly personal experience as so many people, in so many ways said, “Thanks, Mike.” The evening was one of love, appreciation, and shared values.
For some, the surprising announcement was that I am not retiring. RMI and Maryland MEP are joining forces by combining our capacities to better serve Maryland manufacturers. This includes a new vision to make Maryland a national showcase of next-generation American manufacturing. The alignment of RMI and MEP allows me to be a full-time state-wide advocate for manufacturing growth with Maryland public policymakers and stakeholder groups.
My heartfelt thanks to everyone. Your decades of support and friendship have been remarkable. You stood by me over the years. It is gratifying to have had so many people of goodwill join me in making a positive difference in the lives of others.
Sincerely,
Mike Galiazzo, Ph.D.
President, Regional Manufacturing Institute of Maryland
