As Manager of Business Development for Garrett, Kim oversees economic and business development initiatives cross the county and is a mighty connector for manufacturing industry stakeholders doing business there.
She began her economic development career in January 2004, quickly becoming a key member of Garrett County’s economic development team. She assists manufacturing clients and firms across other industry sectors in navigating the business development terrain, from startup and growth to exit strategies.
Kim’s diverse background makes her a valued asset to clients in the industry, her office teammates, as well as the Garrett County community. A hands-on resource on incentive programs, business retention, expansion efforts, and community engagement, she applies her degree in Math/Science from Garrett College and Paralegal Certification with specialties in real estate law, civil litigation, wills and trusts, and corporate law on the job, to management of data research, business tax credit administration, and legal document drafting for the county attorney. She has specialized training in GIS applications for economic development and coursework with the International Economic Development Council and Maryland Economic Development Association. Outside of work, she advocates for children with special needs and has served on several local boards, including the Maryland Salem Children’s Trust and the Garrett County Mental Health Advisory Committee.
