Karen has been with Phoenix Mecano for 24 years! Karen is currently the Production Supervisor, and she oversees about twenty employees. Her focused demeanor and quick wit make her a favorite in Production.

Karen began her career in manufacturing because she was a single mother and wanted a better life for her son. She began as the Production Planner at Phoenix Mecano. As a planner Karen ensured production orders made it through production on time. For several years she was the ONLY planner which meant she was the person responsible for the capacity planning and scheduling. Karen gained a deep understanding of the production process. Her regular presence on the floor also allowed her to work closely with leads and support staff, coordinating and prioritizing the workflow of multiple jobs. This process knowledge and trust built among staff eventually led to a promotion as Production Supervisor.

Karen is known for getting things done while maintaining a positive attitude. She is affable, upbeat and is appreciated for her collaborative spirit and dedication to the company's goals. She certainly has a “take charge” attitude! Karen advises other women who want to work in manufacturing not to be afraid and focus on what you want to achieve. She believes in the importance of surrounding yourself with people who believe in you and will support you.
