Joyce has been a catalyst for Maryland manufacturers for many years, beginning her journey at Maryland's Department of Business and Economic Development (DBED). She was one of the founding members of the Maryland World Class Consortia (MWCC) in 1996. Since then, Joyce has played a pivotal role in advancing manufacturing in the state. In 2018, she was asked to resume the leadership role at the MWCC, transforming it into the premier Lean services powerhouse it is today with well over 100 Maryland companies.
Since her return, Joyce has assembled and led a team of some of the most highly skilled Lean consultants in the country. She has redeveloped several flagship programs, including the Lean Peer Groups, Lean Facilitator Certification Program, and an assortment of Workshops. Additionally, Joyce has customized Lean programs for some of the most successful manufacturers in Maryland.
Since 2019, under Joyce’s leadership, the MWCC has awarded and administered over a million dollars in matching grants to 54 companies. These programs were made possible by collaboration between the Maryland Commerce, Joyce and the MWCC team. Together they have created and retained thousands of permanent manufacturing careers for Maryland’s citizens while increasing the competitiveness of Maryland manufacturers.
Joyce's contributions to the manufacturing industry are immeasurable. Her leadership is directly responsible for the MWCC's success, fostering a team of expert consultants, engaged members, a dedicated administrative team, and a cohesive board. Joyce is a true asset to Maryland’s manufacturing sector and a passionate advocate for Lean practices.
