Frederick County has become one of the most popular Maryland counties in which to establish and grow a manufacturing business. Serving as a leading advocate for manufacturing and the liaison to the many resources Frederick County manufacturers need to thrive in the county is Jodie Bollinger, Director of Business Retention & Expansion at the Frederick County Office of Economic Development.
With more than 25 years of economic development experience, Jodie works closely with industry partners in Frederick and surrounding counties and at the State level to serve manufacturers as well as other sectors. She and her team provide assistance with business location and expansion, permitting and zoning, financial incentives, workforce support, recruitment and training grants, marketing programs, small business and entrepreneurial support services, business networking, and industry connections.
Under her direction, the Made in Frederick program was developed which includes a website (MadeinFrederickMD.com) with information on how manufacturing companies can establish themselves and grow in the county as well as a manufacturing jobs board. It also includes a Directory of the county’s manufacturers. Jodie is proud of the many diverse and innovative manufacturing companies that call Frederick home, and she is always seeking ways to promote them throughout the county and beyond, whether it is through the online Directory, via nominating them for various recognition programs or promoting them via public relations opportunities.
