Phoenix Mecano is proud to celebrate Jay Otzelberger, one of our longest-tenured and most respected employees.  With 31 years of dedicated service, Jay's journey with Phoenix Mecano began as a machinist, and through hard work and a passion for continuous learning, he has moved into his current role as Quality Technician in the Engineering Department.  When Jay started at Phoenix Mecano, machining programs had to be written out individually, a stark contrast to today's advanced technology.  Despite these changes, Jay has successfully navigated the evolving landscape, seamlessly integrating new technology with the ever-increasing demands and customer specifications. Known for his patience, measured approach, and sure-footedness, Jay embodies the spirit of collaboration. He consistently takes the initiative to mentor new employees, drawing from the guidance he received from his own mentors early in his career. Jay recently led a Tool Training Class for all of our machinists and assembly workers, aimed at improving setup efficiency. This initiative has significantly upgraded our Production team's capabilities. By imparting his extensive knowledge, Jay has aimed to streamline our processes, achieving greater speed and precision. We are thankful for Jay's dedication and his readiness to go beyond his day-to-day responsibilities to assist in the growth of others, which speaks volumes about his character. Jay values the variety of products and projects at Phoenix Mecano and has a passion for constant problem-solving. This has kept him engaged and motivated ensuring that he will never get bored. We look forward to many more years of his contributions.
