Jim Helminiak is the Operations Manager for Sierra Hygiene Products, a fully integrated business unit of Clark Associates, which owns and operates WebstaurantStore, the largest online distributor of restaurant supplies. Jim has managed operations at the Frostburg based plant since 2021, when it consisted of roughly 30,000 square feet and employed eight workers. Over the past three years, he has successfully led local efforts in expanding the manufacturing capacity of the plant, which has increased its footprint to 90,000 square feet and employs over 25 local workers. Output at the plant has increased by 225% since he started.

Moreover, Jim has navigated the local expansion of Sierra Hygiene, as it co-located in an existing building owned by parent company Clark Associates outside of Cumberland, increasing its local footprint by another 100,000 square feet. A fully automated facility, the auxiliary plant employs nine technicians, with plans for more. The Cumberland plant continues to expand its capacity to meet growing customer demands.

Finally, Sierra Hygiene has purchased an adjoining parcel of land in Frostburg from Allegany County, with the intention to double their current footprint again, to roughly 200,000 square feet. With Jim managing local operations and implementing expansion plans, Sierra Hygiene will continue to grow, thanks to this Star of Maryland Manufacturing.
