“Eddie Resende is a Star among Stars,” said Dr. Mike Galiazzo, President of the Regional Manufacturing Institute of Maryland (RMI). Eddie, CEO of the World Trade Center Institute in Baltimore (WTCI), is a dedicated, steady voice for Maryland international trade and the many manufacturing companies in Maryland that benefit from WTCI activities and programs. He builds success based on personal relationships, outstanding customer support and a leadership style that gets results. His strategic and tactical successes were honed as a young man who became an “All-American Soccer Player.” His leadership of the WTCI Team of talented voices resulted in an array of unique programs, bringing cultures together for the good of society.
Eddie is a model citizen, giving his time to many efforts to improve living standards worldwide. He played a central role in developing Gems of the Earth, a nonprofit organization that promotes social and economic development in the rural communities of Brazil, making modern technology accessible to all who seek it. He advocated for human rights issues and was vice chair of the Global Refuge Board of Directors.
Eddie and his family migrated to the United States from Brazil when he was 11. He earned his bachelor’s degree in international business from Towson University and a Master of Business Administration from Georgetown University. He also studied culinary arts at Académie de Cuisine.
