Celebrating the 2018 Champions of Maryland Manufacturing
RMI invites you to nominate your Champions of Maryland Manufacturing as a part of our Image Campaign to help tell the story of what manufacturing is doing to support economic growth and quality of life in Maryland communities. As key manufacturing stakeholders, please nominate noteworthy companies, organizations, agencies, projects, or individuals to be recognized as 2018 Champions of Maryland Manufacturing. RMI’s Review Committee will select the top three awardees in eight distinct categories (see below) based on the number of nominations received, compelling story, and results-driven impact. Nominations will close by September 14th, so please make your nominations now.
The top three nominees in each nomination category will be honored at the 2018 Tribute to Champions of Maryland Manufacturing on November 29 at Martin’s West for a gala dinner celebration showcasing the diversity, vibrancy, and innovation of Maryland manufacturing and the impact that the industry has on the quality of life in our communities. All nominees will be featured in the 2018 Champions Yearbook provided to the media, the General Assembly, and manufacturing stakeholders.
As a key manufacturing stakeholder, please nominate the companies, organizations, agencies, or individuals that best represents one of the categories listed below:
Nomination Categories for Champions of Maryland Manufacturing:
STEM Student Advocates:
Nominees should be individuals, products, projects or organizations that have inspired STEM students to consider jobs in manufacturing.
- Nomination description should describe the effort that the organization or individual has made to support student STEM programs or connect them with manufacturer apprenticeships and job opportunities.
Community Engagement:
Nominees should be manufacturing companies that are giving resources, time or talent to help enrich their communities and improve lives where they work.
- Nomination description should describe the effort that the individual or company has made to warrant recognition for being a manufacturing model for community engagement.
Emerging Leaders:
Nominees should be individuals or organizations who have made a dynamic impact on the future direction of a manufacturing company or the manufacturing industry.
- Nomination description should describe the dynamic effort that the individual or organization has made to impact a manufacturing company or the manufacturing industry.
Energy & Sustainability:
Nominees should be manufacturing companies, individuals or technologies that/who have significantly increased energy savings or helped to reduce carbon footprint within manufacturing facilities.
- Nomination description should describe the effort that the company or individual has made to reduce energy consumption and, or reduce their carbon footprint and list those impacts.
Growth & Productivity:
Nominees should be organizations or individuals that provided extraordinary leadership resulting in transformative productivity successes for manufacturing companies or for the manufacturing industry.
- Nomination description should describe the effort that the organization or individual has made to successfully adopting practices that have resulted in substantial productivity growth.
International Business:
Nominees should be organizations or individuals that have played an instrumental role in attracting overseas manufacturers to Maryland or exporting Maryland manufactured products overseas.
- Nomination description describes the effort that the organization or individual has made to either bring new overseas manufacturing business to Maryland or help export Maryland manufactured products overseas and lists those results.
Talent Attraction:
Nominees should be organizations or individuals that have played an instrumental role in attracting talent to a manufacturing company or the industry.
- Nomination description should describe the effort that the organization or individual has made to successfully bring new talent to the Maryland manufacturing industry.
Manufacturing Technology (Industry 4.0):
Nominees should be a person/organization who/which has demonstrated the ability to deliver results in digitizing a facet of their manufacturing operations or the operations of another manufacturing company.
- Nomination description should describe the effort that the organization or individual has made to digitally transform one or more operational areas for future global competitiveness.
Based on the nominations received, three of the top nominees in each category listed below will be selected by a stakeholder committee and recognized at RMI’s signature black tie-optional Gala “Celebrating Maryland’s 2018 Manufacturing Champions” scheduled for November 29, 2018, at Martin’s West. All nominees will be featured in RMI’s 2018 Champions of Maryland Manufacturing yearbook.
