Kurt Parsons is a Maryland Manufacturing Star because of his leadership in the continuous expansion of Platform Aerospace and his dedication & investment to the manufacturing industry in St. Mary’s County.

Kurt has led Platform Aerospace through continued growth and the need to increasingly expand their manufacturing operations. They recently celebrated the successful Grand Opening of their latest building expansion in St. Mary’s County, a milestone which reinforces their commitment to Maryland manufacturing and supports the world’s most critical defense programs. The expanded facility allows Platform to meet an increasing demand for their world record-holding, Ultra-Long Endurance, Group 3 Vanilla UAS, which flies more than 8 days (~15,000 miles) unrefueled.

Through Kurt’s leadership, Platform Aerospace is a champion and supporter of many manufacturing workforce development programs across St. Mary’s County. Initiatives like participating in Tech Jobs Rule and having multiple youth apprentices, providing internship opportunities for students, and hosting site-visits & facility tours for high school students who are exploring manufacturing careers at the Forrest Career & Technology Center.
