In 2001 Andrew joined ACDi after two years at community college left him unfulfilled and uncertain about his preferred career path. Thinking about his prior completion of the electronics courses at the FCPS Career and Technology Center, he applied at an electronics manufacturer where he was hired in an entry-level position as an Electronics Technician. In this role, Andrew repaired various electronic assemblies, mainly point-of-sale retail electronic devices.

Through an acquisition, Andrew interviewed and was offered a position as Group Leader on the electronics repairs and test team at ACDi, a Frederick, MD-based electronics manufacturing services company. Andrew's star began to shine on this team and his talent and willingness to learn was recognized by his team leaders.

In 2007, Andrew transitioned to manufacturing production where he learned more complex electronic component repair and X-ray functionality. As he mastered these facets of electronics manufacturing, he was asked to learn even more technical automated optical inspection (AOI) machinery and programming. After again impressing his leadership team, Andrew was then promoted to Production Engineer.

For the better part of 10 years, Andrew was lead Manufacturing Engineer and 2 years ago was promoted to Surface Mount Technology (SMT) Engineer, a role that is critical in the success of an electronics assembly moving through the production process.

Andrew is a manufacturing star because he exemplifies starting from an entry-level position, and through persistence and a willingness to learn, has progressed into a senior engineering role and subject matter expert on all things manufacturing engineering.
