Dr. Jennifer Light is the Program Director of Industrial Technologies at the Western Maryland Works Makerspace, a unit of Allegany College of Maryland. Dr. Light's dedication to educating the next generation of factory technologists in Allegany County is unwavering, and the curricula that she has deployed there has made the small county in Western Maryland a regional leader for manufacturing. By developing a comprehensive program, both credited and non-credited, Dr. Light is helping Allegany County's local industry partners, such as Northrop Grumman, Berkeley Springs Instruments and Berry Plastics, among others, meet their workforce needs. Covering everything from Industrial Maintenance Technology to Additive Manufacturing, Dr. Light's vision has inspired countless students in reaching their career goals, while further expanding Maryland's manufacturing base.
