Valerie Green is a Maryland Star because she exhibits innovation and humble leadership every day as the lead Industrial Engineer at Hardwire, LLC on Maryland’s Lower Shore.  In her 7 years at Hardwire, Valerie has had an enormous impact on manufacturing success by streamlining processes, database requirements, and creating efficiencies.  Her expertise in systems engineering has enabled Hardwire to take an extensive step in the implementation of automated manufacturing systems while ensuring all standards of quality and government compliance are maintained.  Valerie’s value to Hardwire as a pragmatic thinker and leader cannot be overstated.

Valerie leads a team that is responsible for software programming, database operations, and inventory management of life-saving ballistic products at a rate of hundreds of thousands of parts per year.  Her efforts have had a direct impact on the quality and scale of body and vehicle armor production that supports our military and law enforcement officers.  During her time at Hardwire, Valerie has continued to take an increased leadership role.  Her team interacts with every area of the organization, and she often spends time instructing production members on Hardwire’s ERP system and Lean Six Sigma processes.

Most notably, Valerie performs her job with no fanfare or sense of entitlement.  She is completely focused on the mission and success of the team.  Valerie Green is a shining example of strong character and selflessness and represents all that is good in Maryland Manufacturing.
