I am born and raised in Queen Anne's County. During my junior year of high school I found a job at Dixon Valve and Coupling in Chestertown, MD packaging boxes. This started out as a summer job, but evolved into a work study during my senior year, and employment upon graduation. I began running some light assembly machines, and eventually ran a wide variety of machines in Dixon’s tooling department. Eventually I received my Associate’s Degree from Chesapeake College and a Master’s Degree from UMGC.
In late 2022 I got a Chesapeake College catalog. As I startede looking through it, I saw there was a need for instructors at the college. I looked into this as a part time opportunity. Since graduating I felt it was time to start a new chapter, and I loved sharing my manufacturing knowledge. I then found out that there was a conceptual Advanced Manufacturing program starting at the college, and it was in need of a coordinator. I was offered that position. It was a tough decision to leave Dixon, but I knew in the long run I would still be helping them, and doing something that I was passionate about. I was eager to start the program at Chesapeake College, and share my manufacturing knowledge and experience. I feel that with this program I have the opportunity to share what I love while also connecting local people to great jobs. I am very excited to continue building this program.
